Supima – the name is derived from Superior Pima (American Pima Cotton), which is often referred to the Cashmere of Cotton. It’s the Worlds finest Cotton – best used for shirts, polos, suits and even trousers.
As compared to Egyptian Giza cotton, which is usually used for shirts, Supima Cotton is much softer/ durable & has a better hold on colors.
Getting to Raymond’s new Supima collection – Shirts, Polos & Chinos.
For me, the fabric is the most important in a garment, and then comes the fit. Cotton usually creases a lot & it could get hard to iron a 100% cotton shirt at times, Supima is easy to iron & does not crease as much.
India is one of the top 5 importers of Supima cotton in the world, Raymond being the largest.
Here are some from Raymond’s Supima Collection – I’ve styled the Supima Blue slim fit shirt with a navy suit.
Tell me how you like it, cheers!
