I recently visited Kashmir with Thomas Cook to escape the exasperating heat and explore this beautiful part of India. The itinerary was a short one with just a couple of days travelling in and around this heaven on earth. Right from the view from the flight to the lovely weather, Kashmir had me in love with it at the first instance itself. For our day 1 in Srinagar, we visited the Shalimar garden, the tulip gardens, and the Chashme Shahi garden. The Tulips bloom in the month of April and we were a bit early to enjoy that site. The evening was spent walking across the Dal Lake which is one of the most famous attractions. The second day was spent in Gulmarg which was my personal favourite with it’s beautiful snow clad mountains. Betaab valley in Pahalgam was another breathtaking place with it’s infinite vistas. Another thing you cannot miss out is the Houseboat stay! The wooden boat with it’s cozy feel was a relaxing experience. Through this trip, I met a lot of people from different cities and age groups.

Thomas cook took us around the place and the best part was they knew the locals. I believe that when you get to interact with the locals, you get to explore the place in depth. Kashmir is a place that should be on everyone’s list of places to travel! The beautiful snow, the warm people and the mesmerising views are somethings I still can’t get over.
